AD&D Player’s Handbook Diorama – before the party starts

$150.00

Did we mention these are completely playable? Built to table top scale you can have your players come across the most iconic scene in D&D history. Let them be the party who rids the realm of a temple full of lizard creatures devoted to Moloch and then loot the treasures! C’mon, admit it, you have wanted to do that since the late 70’s. Now’s your chance. And you can even sneak some miniatures in behind the arch to surprise your players.

For people in America, please be aware BEFORE you order: original art and crafts and games are now subject to your tariffs. De minimus no longer applies (small value items were exempt from tariffs). BY labelling this object as a TOY it is exempt from tariffs. Maybe. Customs and border people can always decide differently and there is no way to know what they decide till the package shows up on your doorstep with or without a bill for tariffs payable to your government. Best we can do at the moment.

OUR PLEA: Most artist’s don’t make a living selling their work, they do it for the love of producing something and getting something in return. We NEED more original art, not less of it and we certainly don’t need AI slop being mass produced in Asia, in the world. Listen, if my few dioramas is a threat to a country’s economy then trust us, your economy is already in REAL trouble. Go talk to your politicians about it.

Own a special piece of D&D history in the form of a diorama of the cover of the original Player’s Handbook – Before the Party Begins.

In June 1978, TSR released the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Players Handbook. 128 pages of mind blowing goodness. Even though AD&D is now in its 5th (6th?) incarnation, it’s the cover of the first ever player’s guide which has stuck in the public imagination as the iconic image of D&D. The famous painting featuring a party of adventurers clearing up after battle and gathering loot, under the bejeweled eyes of a grinning demon statue, was by David Trampier, one of the greats of D&D art. This diorama is set BEFORE the party arrives to do their clearing out of this evil temple.

This prototype build of this diorama debuted at the sales table at Arnecon 2 in October, 2024 in Minneapolis and the grognards raved about it! And these were people who worked with David Trampier. “Make MORE!” “Are you kidding? I’d pay a hell of a lot more for this.” “Dave would have loved this and would have asked you to make him one.”

Created with foam, resin parts, and a self contained led lighting set (it uses 2 AA batteries that are easily replaceable), this hand-built and hand-painted diorama is best in class. Painted with care. Wired with LED lights so the torches light up, the brazier lights up, and, is that a hint of light in the iconic ruby eyes? IS that blood from a recent sacrifice? Algae growth? Oh yeah. This is the centerpiece at the end of an epic dungeon crawl.
